Spring Paddling – Yellow Jacket Creek
Yellowjacket Creek was one of the best days last spring. Set in a beautiful, remote gorge west of Mt. St. Helens, I paddled this river with some of my best friends. Great people in great places – life couldn’t be sweeter.

Things I don’t like to see
Sidewinder is not a rapid I like. A technically difficult line leads directly into a dangerous, intimidating undercut rock. All the water flows exactly where you don’t want to be. I’ve yet to run this rapid.

Costa Rica Creeking
The cold, harsh winds now blowing in Portland make me long for warmer days. I thought I’d throw up a few shots from last winter, when John Haddock and I had a blast in Costa Rica. Warm water, bright sun, steep creeks and endless jamon y quesos – life couldn’t have been sweeter.
